EARLY
WORKEstablished himself independently as an intuitive painter and draftsman, and in the mid 60’s he went to Blackburn School of Art, developing many traditional skills. Mike made fundamental changes at Walthamstow College of Art where courses focused very much on addressing the concepts ‘subjectivity and objectivity’, bringing art in the 70’s in parity with other degree courses, triggering a whole new way of perception and innovative art works.
This made the loss of 4 years work, (98%), burnt by a deranged LSD fuelled ‘friend’ all the more devastating, with only two works rescued.
